Wine tasting at Montefioralle

One of the delights of a visit to the Chianti Classico wine zone of Tuscany is the chance to taste and buy Chianti Classico wines within sight of the vineyards from which the wine has been produced. The degustazione and wine selling point of La Fonte winery is located on the grounds of the owner's home just below the walls of Montefioralle, next to the parking area. Here you may taste and also buy any of the three wines produced by La Fonte:

• Rosso di Toscana (IGT)
• Vittorione
• La Fonte (Chianti Classico DOCG)
• Vin Santo (DOCG del Chianti)

We will be presenting our wines at "I Vini del Castello"
in Montefioralle on 19 and 20 May 2012

Montefioralle is one of the most charming villages in Tuscany. Although named "Castello di Montefioralle" it is in fact a fortified village with a single circular road running around inside the walls. The houses of Montefioralle are built between the two circuits of walls and have been there since mediaeval times. Several of them were towers, forming part of the fortifications. There are several entry passages and the main gate is still accessible to the left of the modern entry into the piazza and residents' parking area of Montefioralle.
